“Over 5000 visitors, 50+ exhibitioners, 42 catwalk designers & 15 countries represented”

Fashion month is here, but while the world is focused on London, Paris and Milan we want throw it back to one of the premier events focused on African Fashion.

Setting up for the seventh season, AFWL was held at the Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden London, a venue which has been home for London Fashion Week shows. With cutting edge styles created and inspired by the African continent, the Grand Temple presented the perfect backdrop for the energetic and fresh pieces from some of Africa’s stand out designers.

Spanning over 2 days, AFWL was open to designers of all backgrounds who are inspired by Africa and African culture. The show consisted of 42 designers who all showed 5-7 pieces. Infusing colour and print into ready to wear pieces, AFWL designers presented fresh, relevant and functional collections which have become synonymous with African fashion.

African Street fashion was also on show at the event and photographers were on hand to catch the event goers in the latest trends.

While with most African events time and organisation are always an issue. The organisers certainly stayed on top of things. The show did not disappoint and we are excited for AFWL18.
