On a mission to tackle deforestation and climate change, Ethiopia recently set a new world record and an example to the rest of the world by planting 350 million trees in a single day.

No small feat, the latest initiative by the African nation is part of a broader national “green legacy” action launched by the Ethiopian Prime Minister in hopes to see at least 4 billion trees planted over the upcoming months.

With schools and government offices closed, Ethiopians, joined by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, went out to make their mark and contribute to the planting of trees.
