Olasunkanmi Akomolehin is a Nigerian-born visual. He grew up learning how to translate emotions and thoughts into what is visible including the inner pictures of the soul. He garnered knowledge and individual mentoring from colleagues, and the elderly, this has aided his proficiency in this field as an artist. He bagged his National diploma certificate from Rufus giwa polytechnic, Owo, And a Higher National Diploma Degree in Painting at the school of Art and Design, from the prestigious Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria.
He spent most of his time practising and developing his paintings, he believed photography is an immediate reaction while painting is a meditation. His works are inspired by human emotions, their yesterday, the present, and a view of the future, painting has a life on its own that derives from the painter’s soul, he viewed painting as a way of expressing innermost desires saying every canvas is a journey of his own, his high level of creativity was pioneered by his love for art at a young age. He sees art as a tool that liberates the soul and a reflection of emotion and life. With admirable training and experiences, he expresses himself by capturing the reality behind the facade with the style of Realism. He aims to reach the world through his painting and inspire hope in every man irrespective of place and colour.
Olasunkanmi has worked for numerous brands, he has also participated in several exhibitions which include; The Crucible Art Collective at Connecticut Street Buffalo, New York, Icandrawafrican, Tech4dev / womentechsters, Affinity Gallery, Black wall Street Gallery New York and many more, his ubiquitous work of artistry is unique and felt by all.
