KapCity’s Miami Dream as a Zim Son

18th June 2020 BY Kevin Mwenye

KapCity, (maybe you know him as Kapital K or Lil Keith) a Zimbabwean artist and MC based in Miami releases his much anticipated luxurious and electrifying visuals for his single M.I.A.

MIA is such a catchy song but one would wonder why a Zimbabwean or rather an African would sing about MIAMI going up not Harare, or Lagos, Capetown? well the song MIA is more than just a Miami Heat theme song. KapCity goes all out telling his story finally feeling at home in MIA after moving there from Africa in 2017. He goes on to express the joy of an African King moving to Miami to chase his dream with his family and friends doing well making it through the system, Africans can make it anywhere right? So basically an African King chasing his dream and telling how things are far from home, the visuals are nothing short of amazing alluding the Miami dream he’s always had is coming true.

Definitely hope the follow up music will show MIA what Africa (Zimbabwe) has in store… the AFRICAN DREAM IS ALIVE TOO!

The visuals are top notch with Scenes shot in the heart of Miami, Florida and you can expect to see everything Miami has ( basically he went all in to share his experience with everyone who has the same dream or can relate) from the jet skis, to yachts and the “Badies”. There is an exclusive cutaway on the video where KapCity takes the video from Miami-Dade County to Broward County showing the other side of Florida. A lot of people dont know there is a difference and KapCity illustrates this by having SoFo Kingz and Dynamic X Stream dance their way through the scenes, this part definitely won hearts because the moves seemed to reference Zimbabwean traditional dances… specifically the Kongonya (A Bantu tribal dance) .

Keith Guzah jr AKA KapCity has released a host of awesome records since living in Miami such as It Feels Good To Be Home, Jump The Border, Diaspora and the recent OverQualified EP. Most of them definitely hit home with references to being a diasporan, jumping borders (typical struggles Africans of today can relate to).

His latest release is M.I.A produced by Cashmoney AP who is killing it in today’s hip-hop scene and the visuals are out. They are mad dope making waves across the internet with grand support.
