New Music – ZENGEH – Teeah ft Sarkodie

8th November 2019

Exactly a year after her surprise soulful Afro-Jazz debut single ‘Save Me’, which caused a stir in the UK Afrobeats landscape, and following the release of the critically acclaimed house track ‘So Good’ and the neo-soul slow burner ‘Space & Time’ earlier this year, East London singer and songwriter TEEAH is back with her brand new single titled ‘ZENGEH’ featuring the recently crowned 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards ‘Best International Flow’ winner SARKODIE.

Taken from her forthcoming untitled debut EP, which is due for release in early 2020, and produced by her longtime collaborator Delirious, who has previously worked with the likes of Tinie TempahLady Leshurr, and Stylo G, ‘Zengeh’ offers another layer to Teeah’s artistry that we haven’t yet seen on her previous singles. The soulful Afro-fusion track sees Teeahin her sultry element, highlighted by her captivating vocal performance and sweltering lyrics, while Sarkodie is consummate as ever, delivering one of his best guest appearances of the year.
Born in London of Bajan and Southern African heritage, Teeahbegan singing at the age of 10, before going on to perform backing vocals for Hugh MasekelaAmy WinehouseMel BFred Hammondand Misha Paris, among others, performing at Love Box FestivalRoyal Festival HallChannel 4, and X Factor UK, to mention a few. Over the years, she put her music career on hold for a more behind-the-scenes role in events and PR, but fast-forward to 2019, and Teeahis now ready to share her exciting talent and music with the world.

Speak about the inspiration for ‘Zengeh’, Teeahsays, “I love ‘love’ and that’s what I try to explore with ‘Zengeh’. In its purest form, love is a connection that can be physical yet passionate. The world can sometimes miss the true feeling of love because these days, it’s all rushed rather than enjoyed. ‘Zen-Geh’ – the word alone is passionate enough, and I want listeners to feel passionate about passion when they are listening to it, in all in cultural expression through sound and rhythm”.
